The Director, NERIST hereby invites applications from the citizens of India for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor,  Assistant Professor, Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Medical Officer, Asstt. Workshop Supdt.  and Executive Engineer. The pay bands carry other allowances admissible as per Government of India rules

Registrar – 1
Qualification:
Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale;
Experience:
(i) at least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.7000/- and above or with 8 years’ of service in the AGP of Rs.8000/- and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration; OR
(ii) comparable experience in research establishment and/or other Institutions of higher education; OR
(iii) 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.
Pay Bands : PB-4; Rs.37400-67000/- AGP Rs.10000/-

Deputy Registrar – 01
Qualification:
Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale;
Experience:
(i) at least 09 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.6000/- and above with experience in educational administration; OR
(ii) comparable experience in research establishment and/or other Institutions of higher education; OR
(iii) 05 years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post. Persons having CA/ICWA/SAS will be preferred.
Pay Bands: Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.7600/-

Assistant Registrar- 02(UR)
Qualification:
(i) Post-Graduate Degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade from a recognised University; (ii) Desirable knowledge in computer application;
Age: Below 40 years;
Experience:
Minimum one year experience at the level of Group-B Officer in the field of administration, establishment, finance, Store & Purchase and academic offices in a Govt./Semi Govt. / University. Preference shall be given to higher experience holders.
Pay Bands: Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.5400/-

Medical Officer – 02(UR)
Qualification:
First Class MBBS Degree, from a College/University recognised by the Medical Council of India. Preference shall be given to those having higher qualification and experience in a Govt./Semi Govt./University.
Age: Below 35 years.
Pay Bands: Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.5400/-

Asstt. Workshop Supdt. (AWS) – 01(UR)
Qualification:
(i) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
(ii) About one year’s practical training and 04 years experience in workshop in a responsible capacity covering production, planning, estimating production control of workers .
Age: Below 35 years
Pay Bands: Rs.15600-39100/- AGP Rs.5400/-

Executive Engineer – 01 (on deputation)
Qualification:
(i) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and having 08 years regular service as Assistant Engineer in the Deptt of PWD/RWD/PHE/UD etc.; OR  Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent and having 10 years regular service as Assistant Engineer in the Deptt of PWD/RWS/PHE/UD etc.
N.B: the post shall be filled up on standard deputation terms.

Professor
Qualification:
Ph.D. with first class in Master’s or B.Tech Degree in the appropriate branch or equivalent with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of ten years’ experience out of which at least 05 years at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent grade in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research; and a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy paper.
Pay Bands: Rs.37400-67000/- AGP Rs.10000/-

Associate Professor
Qualification:
Ph.D. with first class in Master’s or B.Tech Degree in the appropriate branch or equivalent with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of eight years’ of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent grade in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research; and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy paper.
Pay Bands: Rs.37400-67000/- AGP Rs.9000/-

Assistant Professor
Qualification:
Master’s with 1st class or equivalent or B.Tech first class with Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout. For Science and Humanities Group, NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition. However, candidates, who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.

Interested persons may submit their application on prescribed format as given in the website. The application must accompany with certified copies of all certificates in support of his/her candidature and two copies of passport size photograph (one should be pasted on the form). The completed applications accompanied with all above documents and a Demand Draft (Non-refundable) of Rs.200/- for SC/ST and Rs.500/- for others drawn in favour of Director, NERIST and payable at SBI Nirjuli (Code No.9535) Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh should reach the Registrar, NERIST, Nirjuli, PIN –791109, Arunachal Pradesh by Registered/Speed Post only superscribing the envelope as “Application for the post of________________”. Last Date of receipt of completed application is 10.03.2011.

General Conditions/Instructions:
1.Applications filled only in prescribed format along with summary sheet will be entertained;
2.Incomplete applications and/or applications received after the due date shall summarily be rejected and no further correspondence in this matter shall be entertained;
3.Vacancies are tentative and may be increased or decreased;
4.The candidates who have applied in response to the earlier Advertisements (Advt. No. 2/2010 for officer posts and No.3/2010 for teaching posts) need not to apply again; however, they may submit up-dated bio-data referring to the earlier application without any application fee. 5.Submission of API Score in the prescribed format (Annexure-III) and acquiring minimum score as stipulated is essential for the post of Professor and Associate Professor;

7.Applications received in response to the advertisement will be scrutinized and short-listed candidates will only be called for interview. Mere fulfilling the requirements laid down in the advertisement does not entitle automatically a candidate to be called for interview.
